Home Managing People & Objectives

Managing People & Objectives: Many people  move into a supervisory or management role for the first time and experience difficulty managing people, setting and agreeing objectives and gaining commitment from people. This highly interactive programme allows trainees to practise the principles of motivation in a safe environment and apply the general principles when working with employees.

Aimed at: Supervisors/Managers new to the role of managing others

Objectives

This 1 or 2-day programme focuses on the 5 principles of motivation

  1. How to enhance and/or reduce a person’s self-esteem
  2. Focus on specific behaviour and results
  3. Provide reinforcement techniques
  4. Develop active listening skills
  5. How to set goals and objectives

The remainder of the programme focuses on how to apply the principles when

  • Setting goals/objectives with an employee
  • Coaching an employee
  • Carrying out the annual appraisal

Duration: 1 or 2 days
